To start, here’s how you can set up overtime pay:
- On your QuickBooks Online Payroll account, choose Payroll in the left menu, then select Employees.
- Locate and select your employee.
- From Pay types, select Start or Edit.

Once done, log in to your QuickBooks Time account and follow these steps:
- Go to Company Settings.
- Choose Payroll & Overtime, then select Overtime.
- Select Use Pay Rate Engine to customize your overtime calculations.
- Click Manage Pay Rates.
- Select Add Setting and enter a name.
- Assign team members to the setting and select Add.
- Choose the setting you just created, then select Add Rule.
- Enter a Rule Name and select a Type.
- Enter the appropriate settings for the selected rule.
