How do I import Intuit Payroll data to Quickbooks Online?

Welcome aboard to the Community, Lindagig.

I can help you on how to import your Intuit Payroll data to Quickbooks Online.

When performing this process, make sure to set up your QBO accounts for payroll data. If you haven’t created them, the online program will set them up for you.

This happens if it’s the first time you import the information into QuickBooks. However, if you’ve already entered the accounts, select them directly from the Chart of Accounts.

If you use classes for employees, make sure to add them to the company file (QBO). Here’s how:

  1. Tap the Gear icon to choose All Lists under the Lists section.
  2. This will open another page where you can select Classes.
  3. Hit the New menu to enter the Class name, check off the Is sub-class box (if applicable).
  4. Press Save.

If you want to add more classes, follow the same steps above. After entering them, let’s go ahead and transfer your IOP data to QBO.

  1. In our IOP account, choose the Setup tab to select Preferences under the Export section.

  2. This will open the Export Preferences page.
  3. Select QuickBooks Online in Your Accounting Software drop-down.

  4. The program will look for any existing QBO accounts under the current user ID.
  5. Once found, continue with the export process. However, if there are multiple accounts, you will be prompted to select one.
  6. Next, we will complete the connection process.
  7. You are also given the option to change the QBO company you sync with.

To continue in exporting the data, follow the recommended steps in the Setup export of IOP data to QuickBooks Online (QBO) article. Then, perform Steps 4-5.
