How do I synchronize changes I made to an employee name with the time module?

One of my employees recently got married.  I changed her last name in the "Employee" tab of Quickbooks Online Payroll.  But the Time module (and our timeclock kiosk) still show her former name.  Is there a way to manually sychronize employee details between Quickbooks payroll and Quickbooks time?

How do I synchronize changes I made to an employee name with the time module?

Hi there, Nicholas.

Congratulations to your employee on their recent marriage! It’s important to ensure that all records are updated consistently across QuickBooks Online Payroll and the Time module (formerly known as TSheets, now QuickBooks Time) for accuracy. Rest assured, I'm here to assist you in synchronizing your employee's name from your QBO to your QBTime account.

There's a way to manually synchronize employee details between QBO Payroll and QBTime, and I'm here to show you how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Time account.
  2. On the upper-right corner of the page, click QuickBooks Payroll.
  3. Select Import.

After sync is completed, check your employee's name through My Team. You'll now see their updated names from your QuickBooks Online Payroll recent changes.

If the problem persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Time support to have them forcely synchronize your data between QBO and QBTime.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your attention to detail in managing your employee's records is commendable, and we're here to support you throughout the process.

Thanks for your help.  Your instructions worked for the "first name" and "last name" fields.  But the "display name" field in QB time remained unchanged.  I had to contact the QB Time helpdesk and have them manually change that field in QB Time.  So it seems your programmers have some work to do to fix the import link
