May I know what specific box you're finding an incorrect amount in? If it's the employee's information, you can simply update it from their profile.
Here's how:
- Go to Payroll, then Employees.
- Select your employee.
- If you don’t see your employee, change the filter on the employee list.
- Above the employee list, click the drop-down ▼ and choose Active Employees, Inactive Employees, or All Employees.
- Select Start or Edit on the section you want to update. If you aren’t sure what section to choose, see the table below.
- When finished, click Save.
- Once done, go ahead and file your W-2 forms.
You can then access payroll tax forms and tax payments you've made in QuickBooks.
If the issue is about incorrect amounts and deductions, you’ll need to contact our QuickBooks Payroll Live Team to request a correction.
