Buy nowI can provide ways so you can apply the 9/80 schedule of your employee, @David.
You're in the right place for solutions. I'll make sure that your employee will have complete hours in their paychecks.
Here’s a sample of a 9/80 workweek schedule to help you visualize it better:
Total hours worked: 40hrs. Another option is to have the employee leave at 5:00 pm and not use the lunch break. So they can get 40hrs total in week two.
For more information, see this link: 9/80 work schedule: What is a 9/80 schedule?.

Try that out. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to reach back out to me. I'm happy to help again. Take care, David.
Thanks. This doesn’t quite meet our needs. Is our schedule:
M-Thurs 7:30am-12pm work at various jobsites
12:2-12:30 unpaid break
12:30-5 work at other jobsites
every other friday is off, the other ones are 8 hrs.
per DLES / EDD the way to do this is to end work week at noon on Friday.
I am asking how to set the end of a payperiod at a specific time on a specific day.
It is important that the hours are the 9hrs a day that we are working, not some “workaround “
Thanks for getting back to us, @david-lookfarbui.
Currently, we're unable to set up the hours that way. I can see how your experience would help us provide a more customer-friendly interface. You'll want to send a feedback to our Developers through this link: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.
Rest assured, your encounter has been shared with our Developers. It may take time for them to evaluate this matter. In that same page, you'll see the recently updated ideas added to QuickBooks.
Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns with payroll. I'm always here for you. Take care and have a good one.
