How do you implement a weekly 9/8/80 schedule where the pay period ends on Friday at noon so you can have 40 hours per week. Right now it doesn't look like that works.

We pay weekly, the normal work week M-Th will be 36 hours each week. Every other friday is off, and the other Friday is 8 hours. To get to 40 hours per week, you need to end the pay period at Noon on Friday

I can provide ways so you can apply the 9/80 schedule of your employee, @David.

You're in the right place for solutions. I'll make sure that your employee will have complete hours in their paychecks.

Here’s a sample of a 9/80 workweek schedule to help you visualize it better:

  • Monday: 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., one-hour unpaid lunch break, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., one-hour unpaid lunch break, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., one-hour unpaid lunch break, 12 p.m. – 6p.m.
  • Thursday: 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., one-hour unpaid lunch break, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Friday: Off
  • Saturday and Sunday: Off

Total hours worked: 40hrs. Another option is to have the employee leave at 5:00 pm and not use the lunch break. So they can get 40hrs total in week two.

Try that out. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to reach back out to me. I'm happy to help again. Take care, David.

Thanks. This doesn’t quite meet our needs. Is our schedule:

M-Thurs 7:30am-12pm work at various jobsites

12:2-12:30 unpaid break

12:30-5 work at other jobsites

every other friday is off, the other ones are 8 hrs.

per DLES / EDD the way to do this is to end work week at noon on Friday.

I am asking how to set the end of a payperiod at a specific time on a specific day.

It is important that the hours are the 9hrs a day that we are working, not some “workaround “
