Hi there, @WB19681.

I'll be happy to help you request quicker payroll funding.

In QuickBooks, your payroll funding time depends on your payroll service. If you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium or Elite, your workers are paid the same day you send your payroll to us. You can also check your funding time through the following steps:

  1. Select Settings, then Payroll settings.
  2. Scroll to the Direct Deposit section. You'll see your funding time above your direct deposit limits.

However, since you want a faster funding time, you can submit a request online. Your most recent six months of bank statements are required, and you can upload them with your request. As a result, the amount of money your direct deposit can change. Feel free to send your request through this link: Faster funding time request. Once done, our team will contact you once your information has been reviewed.

Know that you can always switch back to a longer funding time if in case you need to process a direct deposit payroll that's higher than your direct deposit limit.

In addition, QuickBooks offers a selection of payroll reports. You will be able to see more details about the overall compensation, tax deductions, and other financial data for each of your employees over time. Please take a look at this article: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

I'll be here if you have additional payroll concerns, I'm just a reply away. Take care!

I've had QB payroll since 2009 and have had 2 day funding without any issues, until my bank account got hacked in 2022. I immediately contacted QB to inform them of the hack and the new account number, a member of QB team assured me everything was in order and our company would receive our payroll without delay. well team member Michael was right and we did get paychecks on time, only QB pulled from the wrong account and kept pulling from the wrong account for two weeks. charging me with insufficient funds. Then changed my process time to 5 days and had to start over, going thru the waiting time of 6 months just like a new account and that's fine since there's no way to talk to an accrual human that make decisions. so I wait, and wait and wait I send in applications and that's been 6 additional months and still nothing.

I miss actual humans doing the work, that they now assign to a computer program.

I wish I can make your experience better, @3rd sister

Running a business means every penny and time counts and being able to deal and experience such circumstance as yours deserved to be well taken care of. No worries, I'm here to turn the table around and route you to the appropriate support.

But before that, I'd like you to know that I truly appreciate your effort and patience in waiting for this issue to get resolved so you can get back to business.

To continue, since the Community is a public forum, we can't ask for any confidential information about your account and business to investigate this as we prioritize your security here in QuickBooks. With that being said, I would recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support Team to better isolate this, give updates about the application and guide you with the entire process.

I'm aware that you've already gotten in touch with them, but it's the best we can do right now given that they have all the tools required to safely look at your account through screen sharing.

I'd be glad to input the steps how:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select Contact us in the Search tab.
  2. From the What can we help you with field, enter your question.
  3. Click on Continue.
  4. Choose either Appointment, Callback, or Chat.

Moreover, I'm pleased to include this helpful article that'll help you if you want a quick view of your payroll totals, including employee taxes and contributions: Create a payroll summary reports in QuickBooks.

You can always count on me if you need a hand in performing payroll-related tasks. Just hit on the Reply button and I'll be right here to assist you. Have a good one.

I can see the urgency of getting this issue resolved, @Paul K2103.

I'll outline some handy details to help get around this query you've encountered with payroll funding.

Please know that QuickBooks depends on the payroll service you have. As my colleague, QueenC provided above, you'll see your direct deposit funding time from Settings, then click Payroll Settings. From there, go to the Direct deposit section.

If you want a faster funding time, you can submit an online request to increase your direct deposit security limit.

Otherwise, if your concern is about the funds pulled out from the incorrect account, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll Support Team to take a deeper look into this matter and find a possible resolution. Thus, QuickBooks Community is a public forum, and we're unable to pull up your account to check.

Here's how you can contact them:

  1. From the Search tab, click Contact Us.
  2. Enter your question and select Continue.
  3. Review and choose from the following: Have us call you, or Chat with us.

In addition, you can read this resource to learn more about the direct deposit limits: Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit in QuickBooks Payroll.

I'll be around if you need more help about the funding time. I'm very eager to help. Take care.

In my case, with all due respect, your work around is not what I am in need of. I just want to go back to submitting my payroll and having it pay my employees/subs the next day, which I’ve had for several years, not the 5 day delay I am currently on. I’m in a catch-22 right now where the only way to request is through a broken system (this error in question) and I also can’t get anywhere with real human beings.  Please help.

We recognize the importance of timely payroll deposits in QuickBooks Online (QBO), and I’m here to guide you to the team best suited to assist with your concern, Paul.

As mentioned by my colleague QueenC above, the lead time for payroll funding in QBO depends on your payroll service plan. If there have been no recent changes to your subscription or banking details, any delays you're experiencing may require further investigation.

Before routing you to our support team, let’s first verify your direct deposit funding time with the following steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll settings.
  2. Scroll to the Direct deposit section.
  3. You'll see your funding time in the third column.

If you notice any unexpected changes in the lead time, I recommend reaching out to our payroll support team. They have the necessary tools to securely access your account, identify the root cause of the issue, and provide an appropriate resolution.

Additionally, you can run payroll reports to get a comprehensive overview of your business' finances.

Let us know if you have other concerns with your payroll or direct deposits in QBO. We're here to help you in any way we can.
