How I add new employee in payroll when he is already in the system as a customer or vendor?

he is a pastor from non profit organization and he works his regular job. He paid 10% of his income to the church as a donation and we have him as a vendor because we pay him weekly as a pastor. when I try to create him as a employee because he wants to pay federal, state and social security weekly is stating to use another name. I cannot change his name. how I enter in payroll as an employee?

Yes, the system will notify you to use a unique name when adding a customer, vendor, or employee. Thus, you can modify his name on the vendor list, or add extra characters when adding the pastor as an employee. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, then click on Payroll at the left pane.
  2. Select Employees, then Add an employee.
  3. Enter the name on the Personal info section with unique characters (example vendor namePr. Aeros Diomedes, and the employee namePastor Aeros Diomedes).
  4. Input the other details, then hit Done.

 

After that, the name is now added to the Employees list.
