How to add an additional business

One QBO account is for one company file. You can sign up for a second QBO account with the same email address. Otherwise, consider using QB Desktop to manage multiple company files.

How to add an additional business

Thanks for reaching out in the Community space, Oscar. Let's work together in adding a new business in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

@Deity Alpha is correct, one QBO account is good for a single company or business file. If you wish to add one, you'll need to purchase another subscription. However, you can still utilize the same sign-in info.

Here's how:

  1. Visit the QuickBooks pricing page and select the subscription option you want.
  2. It will open two experiences.
    - If you're signed in to QuickBooks, you’ll be asked to confirm the account you want to sign in with. If the account displayed is the one you want to use for the new company file, select Yes, that’s correct.
    - If you haven’t signed in recently,  you’ll be asked to create an Intuit account. Don't fill this out unless you want to connect your new company file to a new account. Instead, look for Adding a company to an existing account? section and select the Sign-in link. Sign in with the user ID and password you already use for QuickBooks.
  3. After that, follow the on-screen steps in creating a new company/business file.

Feel free to read this article for more info: Create or add another company file to QuickBooks Online.

Also, I'll add this article to help you import lists of vendors, customers, inventory, and chart of accounts in QBO: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.

The Community is always here to assist you if you have additional questions about adding business in QBO. We'll be willing to lend a hand. Take care, and enjoy the rest of the week.
