QuickBooks Online retains filing forms for one year, and QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows you to archive payroll forms after or during submission, jwmusick.
To pull up the W-2 forms that were archived from prior years, please follow these steps:
- From My apps, click Payroll dropdown.
- Choose Payroll taxes, hit the Filing tab.
- Select Archives. You can use the Filter option to narrow down your search to 2021.
If you are unable to find the form there, I recommend contacting the Payroll Live support team. They have tools to pull up past years' W-2 forms as long as they've been moved to the archive.
If not, retrieval is not possible. An alternative would be to use a blank W-2 form and manually enter the details using the payroll reports (from 2021) to make sure the information is accurate.
