To skip a payroll schedule, you'll need to manually edit the dates to the next period:
I've attached a screenshot for your reference.
After this, you should be able to see the correct dates under the Pay Period and Check Date column.

What if you only want to edit the payroll for one employee not everyone. how would you do that?
What if you want to only skip 1 week of payroll for one person in a two week pay period?

You can definitely unselect a specific employee when running a scheduled payroll in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I have a similar situation here , BUT I’ve processed the payroll cycle earlier than scheduled as I was out of town. The payroll cycle I’ve processed (or supposedly processed) did not get processed after all now looking back. How do I manually process the skipped payroll?
I can show you how to skip that payroll schedule, @Pheeps.
You can simply edit your scheduled payroll date in case it is showing the overdue status. You can do it from the Pay Employees tab.
Let me show you how:
That should remove the overdue status of your payroll. You can also use the schedule that you created to avoid an overdue status. The system will keep you notified every time you miss using it.
