Greetings, @aabyrum.

Thank you for joining the Community. I'd be glad to help you file the amended Forms W-2c and W-3c.

You're correct. You need to file an amended form to correct the employee's personal income tax return. However, you only need to submit the W-2c form to correct the employee Social Security Number.

To start, let's make sure to change your employee's SSN by editing their record. After that, you can send the form.

Here's how to change an employee's SSN:

  1. On the left pane, select Workers.
  2. At the top left, select Employees
  3. Select the employee's name.
  4. Click Edit employee.
  5. In section 1, select the edit (pencil) icon to update W-4 information.
  6. In the Social Security number field, delete the displayed digits.
  7. Retype the correct SSN.
  8. Click Done.

Additionally, you have two options to file the form. You can either file it on paper or electronically. If you wish to file it electronically, you can send it through the SSA Business Services Online
