Greetings, @aabyrum.
Thank you for joining the Community. I'd be glad to help you file the amended Forms W-2c and W-3c.
You're correct. You need to file an amended form to correct the employee's personal income tax return. However, you only need to submit the W-2c form to correct the employee Social Security Number.
To start, let's make sure to change your employee's SSN by editing their record. After that, you can send the form.
Here's how to change an employee's SSN:
Additionally, you have two options to file the form. You can either file it on paper or electronically. If you wish to file it electronically, you can send it through the SSA Business Services Online.

I'm just a post away if you should have any other questions about filing the W-2c form. I'll be happy to help you out. Have a great day.
I want to electronically send W2c and W3c through Desktop Quickbooks, but after preparing it is not giving a submit button?
The option to electronically file W-2c and W-3c in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll is currently unavailable, KansasCPA. I'm here to discuss this matter further.
In QBDT Payroll, you can only prepare W-2c and W-3c, then print them on perforated paper (not pre-printed). Hence, you'll want to manually send them to the Social Security Administration instead. For guidance on submitting your forms, visit this link: General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3.
On the other hand, if you need to review your payroll tax payments and forms, browse this material to discover where it can be located: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.
Please consider seeking assistance in this forum again if you have other concerns regarding W-2c and W-3c or other related forms in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. Just click the Reply button below and add any of your queries.
