Please know that concern with the Payroll button not working when submitting payroll is still marked as an ongoing issue. Rest assured that our engineers are working hard to determine the root cause of this problem and provide a solution.
For now, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online support so they can add you to our notification list. This will help our engineers determine the number of affected users. You'll receive updates through email once the issue is resolved.

I've had this issue since June!!!!! Every two weeks I spend 20-40 minutes on a call with support, and eventually, they submit to running the payroll manually and are told I'll be updated by IT when it's fixed. I've never gotten an update and had to call support each pay period. Last month, their being able to run it manually stopped being an option. I'm so sick of the lack of urgency on this.
