@TeresaP20241  While Pro Advisors do exist, they're typically more of remote workers than house calls.

If you wanted someone from this community in your area to physically show up, it would make it easier if you stated which region of the world you're in, at a minimum.

I understand how important this is for your business to set up your payroll in QuickBooks Online as soon as possible, @TERESA. Let me walk you through the process.

First, we need to choose your Quickbooks Online Payroll plan. Then after choosing the right plan for your payroll account, we can start your payroll setup:

  1. Sign in to your account as the primary admin.
  2. Go to Payroll, then select Overview.
  3. Select Get Started.
  4. Select if you or someone else paid employees in the current year.
  5. Select the date when you want to start paying your employees through QuickBooks.
  6. Enter your main business address.
    • Enter a physical address.  The work location determines your tax responsibilities.
    • If you have multiple work locations, you can add those later when you add your employees.
  7. Enter your main payroll contact info.
    • This is generally the person responsible for paying your employees. The payroll contact will receive important payroll notifications from us and may speak with our payroll experts about your payroll account.
  8. Select how you’ve run your payroll in the past.
    • Depending on your answer, you may be able to import employee and pay history info instead of entering it manually.
  9. Now you’ll start adding your employees.
  10. If you haven’t paid any of your employees this year, you can opt to pay them now by paper check if needed.  Or you can continue the setup and finish the remaining setup tasks.

If you are still having difficulty setting up your payroll after following the steps provided above, I suggest contacting our Payroll Support team. They are live experts who can assist you in setting up your payroll account. Here’s how to contact them:

  1. Open your QuickBooks account using your web browser.
  2. Head to the Help icon, then the Search tab.
  3. Enter Contact US in the search box.
  4. Click Contact Us.
  5. Pick the Chat or Callback option.

Additionally, running payroll reports helps assess how well your departments are performing. By comparing payroll costs to productivity metrics, you can make informed decisions about staffing and resource allocation. Plus, these reports give you a clear view of your payroll expenses, ensuring you have accurate records of wages, taxes, and benefits. This ultimately helps you maintain reliable financial statements.

A dedicated payroll account helps streamline the process of calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes, minimizing errors and ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time.
