I processed payroll already. I didn't notice the days were wrong. How do I fix that?

Let me help you change the incorrect payroll dates in QuickBooks, igonowroadside.

Currently, the option to edit/change a pay period of a paycheck is unavailable. As a workaround, if you manually processed the check, you can delete it and create a new one with the correct paycheck date. If you process payroll through Direct Deposit, you can still cancel it before 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, and 2 banking days before the paycheck date you accidentally entered.

To start, let's run the Paycheck List report:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu, then enter Paycheck List on the search bar.
  2. Click the Funnel icon drop-down to choose a date.
  3. Put a checkmark on the paychecks you need to delete, then Delete

Once finished, here's how to recreate them with the correct pay period:

  1. Click the Payroll menu, and then select the Employees tab.
  2. Pick Run payroll, then click an employee
  3. Enter the necessary information.
  4. Hit Preview payroll, then Submit payroll.
