Join nowI'm here to help you correct any errors on your employee's W2 and ensure that everything is filed correctly, Nagloc.
Since the employee's setup was correct. You need to update and file a corrected W2.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), if your automated taxes and forms feature is turned on and you need to make a correction, you'll need to get in touch with our payroll support team. They'll handle any corrections and file a W-2C with the Social Security Administration on your behalf. You'll also receive a copy of the W-2C to provide to your employee, as well as an updated W-3C copy to print for your records.
On the other hand, if you have disabled the automated taxes and forms, you'll need to manually create and file a W-2c and W-3 form with the Social Security Administration. To do this, refer to the General Instructions for Forms W-2c and W-3c section in the General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3.
