Is there a way to export timesheet entries into excel for a few months?

I am trying to export my employee's timesheet entries for a multimonth span. Is there a way to export it to excel or csv file? Either broken down by employee or all together

Thank you

Let me show you how to export timesheet entries, davidmatyas.

QuickBooks Desktop can generate more reports through Excel. We can use this feature to export the timesheet. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Hover over Employees & Payroll, click More Payroll Reports in Excel and select Employee Time & Costs.
  3. From the exported Excel file, enable the editing.
  4. On the pop-up, set the reporting date. On the Total By drop-down, you can choose how you want to sort the total. Click Create Report.timesheet.PNG

Another way is to pull up the Time by Name report. From the Reports menu, go to Jobs, Time & Mileage, then select Time by Name. You can use this guide on how to customize it. Once everything's good, you can click on the Excel button and select Create New Worksheet. That way, the data will exported into an Excel file. You can also export it to a CSV file by selecting Create a comma separated vales (.csv) file on the pop-up.timesheet 1.PNG

I'm just a post away if you need more guidance. Have a wonderful day!

Is there a way to export timesheet duration data including the start and stop times?

I recall being able to access that format years ago, but I cannot find it either at the QuickBooks Time website, nor from within QBES today. Where can I report & export the approved timesheet details in timesheet format?

Thanks for joining this thread, Kurt_qc9.

If your Employee Time & Costs and Time by Name reports aren't containing the data you're looking for after exporting them into Excel, I'd recommend using your Timesheet report.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to Reports.
  2. Access your Report Center.
  3. Enter "Timesheet" in the search field.
  4. Find your Timesheet report.
  5. Click Run.
  6. Use the Excel button.
  7. Select Create New Worksheet or Update Existing Worksheet.
  8. Follow your on-screen steps to complete the process.

If your books are integrated with QuickBooks Time, you also have the option of using your Payroll report.

I've also included a detailed resource about exporting reports as Excel workbooks which may come in handy moving forward: Export reports as Excel workbooks

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have an awesome Monday!
