Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

Hello,

We recently upgraded to QB Enterprise Solutions Contractor 22.0 and noticed that several  reports under Employees and Payroll are no longer there (i.e. Employee Payroll report in Excel; Sick and Vacation Accrual, 401K reports).  I need help on how to locate this reports in the new edition.

Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

Yes, this is normal and how QuickBooks works on every upgrade. It has been this way for at least a decade. It happens because not all of the reports are initially installed, for some reason, but some are. Intuit reps should be well aware of this, but like so many other things they are not.

There's usually or never a need to delete and reenter your service key.

@Robbycruzin

Instead, when you successfully get payroll updates the new remaining reports will be delivered. Then, when you restart QuickBooks, the reports will be added.

Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

Let me guide you on how you'll be able to access some of the reports, Robbycruzin.

Ideally, you'll still be able to access the same reports after you've upgraded to QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Contractor 22.0. You'll want to make sure that this is your latest QuickBooks update so you'll be able to get the latest fixes.

Once done, revalidate payrolls service key. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Employees, then My Payroll Service.
  2. Select  Manage Service Key.
  3. Click Edit, remove the payroll service key then re-enter it again.
  4. Click Next, then OK

In addition, QuickBooks Desktop provides a way to save your reports. You can check out this article for your reference: Export Reports As Excel WorkBooks In QuickBooks Desktop

Fill me in if you have any questions about accessing some of your reports. As always, we're here to make sure that everything is taken care of.

Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

We have the Enterprise Solution V 22.0 and under our payroll reports we still have the same options under Employees & Payroll "More Payroll Reports in Excel" then "401K Reports". However, the most recent period available is showing as 9/30/2021.  I cannot access this excel report for October or November payrolls.

Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to the latest deferred Compensation Report for 401(k) in QuickBooks, valerieKT.

We can try opening another company file (if you have one) to check if you're having a problem with only one file and not the program itself. Let me show you how:

  1. In your QuickBooks, go to the File menu at the top left.
  2. Choose Close Company.
  3. In the No Company Open window, click the drop-down arrow in the Open a sample file icon.
  4. Choose another company file with an invoice template and click on it.

Then, try running the report again. Here's how:

  1. Select Reports at the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Employees & Payroll.
  3. Tap More Payroll Reports in Excel and choose 401K reports.
  4. If prompted by the Excel security warning, follow the directions to enable macros in Excel.
  5. Select the dates, then press Get QuickBooks Data.

To learn more about this one, see the Excel-based payroll reports article. If the same thing happens, try repairing QuickBooks. Before diving, ensure to create a backup of your company file first. This way, we can restore your data if you ever run into problems. Once done, restart your computer to close the programs that may affect the repair. When you're ready, here's how to repair the software:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu, then select Control Panel.
  2. Choose Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.
  3. Select QuickBooks from the list, then click Uninstall/Change.
  4. Hit Continue or Next.
  5. Select Repair, then click Next.
  6. Once it's done, select Finish. Please know that you may have to restart your computer to complete the repair.
  7. Update your QuickBooks to the latest release to get the latest security update.

We can also run the Rebuild Data tool to fix any company file data issues. Just follow the steps and detail in the Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file article.

Feel free to visit our Reports page for more insights about creating and managing reports.

I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you, please let me know how it goes after trying the steps. Just leave a comment below and I'll get back to you. Take care always.

Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

I have the reports available but they don't produce the correct report with the correct information.

I've attached the report I used to get. I've tried running all the reports in QB Desktop 2022: (the one that used to work for everything I needed), Deferred Comp Report for 401K, and 401K Reports. None of the reports produce the correct information. Both the Payroll Summary by tax tracking type and the deferred comp report produce a compiled YTD summary regardless of how you customize the report for "Last Month" "Last Quarter" ect...

Below is the report that used to generate before the update. It had many tabs and the report customization worked to get only the data you wanted. The second photo you can see that all the reports are available as before the update. The last picture you can see that the reports the 2022 update are generating are not including the correct data.

I've tried everything suggested in this thread and none of it has corrected the problem.

Missing Reports on Contractor 22.0

I admire you for sharing some information with us, Pamela.

I also appreciate you for going through the troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague above. Allow me to chime in and provide additional clicks to help you isolate and fix this issue.

I suggest restarting your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to refresh the system and for the updates to take effect. If this is not the case, I suggest running the Verify Rebuild utility tool. This tool scans your company file for potential errors and quickly fixes them. I'll show you how.

To Verify:

  1. Go to the Window menu and select Close All.
  2. Click the File menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Click Verify Data.

To Rebuild:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Click Rebuild Data.

You can also check this link for more detailed steps: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop

If the issue remains, I propose running a clean install. This fixes issues that keep you from opening your company file and a few other situations.

Furthermore, in case you want to learn how to access your reports outside your QuickBooks, check out this link for the complete process: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can always count on me whenever you need more help with your reports or with QuickBooks. I'm always here ready to back you up. Keep safe and always stay healthy!
