I have an employee that has two different profiles. One is for his monthly allowance and one is for his weekly paycheck.  I need to have his ssn in both but it will not let me do it.  what do I do when I need to run w2's and things of that nature?

Thank you for dropping by the Community today, CSCC.

Ensuring the proper tracking of your employees' data is vital to maintain the accuracy of your taxes and forms. Allow me to assist you in finding the right support that can guide you through the seamless input of SSN.

When you input the same Social Security Number (SSN) for an employee, you'll be notified that it's already associated with another worker's profile. If your employee works at multiple locations, simply run payroll multiple times on their existing profile instead of making a new one.

If you still wish to use the same SSN, I suggest consulting a tax adviser or accountant for additional assistance. They can offer guidance on how to effectively manage the situation. Reaching out to them will guarantee a smooth processing of your W-2 form and ensure that your tax information is properly organized.

Here's an article that covers all the process of setting up your workers in the payroll service: Add your new employee. It contains a checklist of the tasks you'll have to do before entering your workers.

I have assembled a variety of resources that focus on setting up payroll features and providing instructions for processing year-end filings and payments. Feel free to open each one for the full details:

Don't hesitate to visit the Community again if you have other payroll-related concerns or additional questions about using the same SSN for your worker. I'm always ready to respond to them. Have a great rest of the day, CSCC.
