Hello there, @sclinton87.

I'll be sure to help you fix the issue you encountered in managing tax mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

In your case, the error message you encountered may be due to the vehicle year you use not being updated. To fix it, let's manage vehicles, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Miles tab and select the tax year
  2. Get the total miles
  3. Select the tax year
  4. Next, go to the Gear icon, and choose Vehicle info.
  5. Select the Vehicle and change the tax year
  6. Scroll down to enter the total miles under the Total miles field
  7. Then, hit Save.

I'm attaching this article to find out how QBSE calculates mileage: Learn how QuickBooks Self-Employed calculates mileage deductions.

Furthermore, if you want to get reports of your federal estimated quarterly tax payment and annual tax info, visit this article for future reference: Get quarterly and annual tax info from QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please feel free to comment back if you have additional concerns with mileage or QuickBooks. I'm always ready to help.
