Welcome aboard to the Community, mdenny1.
In QBO, you’ll have to open each of the employee’s profiles and configure the Tax exemptions option. I’m here to ensure you can accomplish this task seamlessly.
Here’s how:
- Tap the Payroll menu on the left panel to choose Employees.
- From the list, click on the employee’s name you’re working on to the worker’s profile.
- Go to the Employee details tab and hit the Pencil icon for Pay.
- In the What are (employee) withholdings? section and click the Pencil icon to view more information.
- Press the Tax exemptions link to show the list of taxes.
- From there, tick the box for MO SUI.
- Click Done to keep the changes.
For more details, check out this article: Employee payroll tax exemptions.
If you’re using QBO Enhanced Payroll, you can either manually pay the withholding or activate the E-Services feature to process it electronically. Here’s an article that will guide you through the process. Press the QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll link for detailed instructions: Setup E-File & Pay.
However, if you’re currently subscribed to QuickBooks Online Core, Premium, and Elite, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. They’ll update the payroll setup for you and make sure it’s configured to automatically file and pay the taxes.
Click here to see the contact information. From the list, hit the link for your payroll service.
To ensure you’re compliant with state payroll tax regulations, I’m adding a link that provides detailed information about withholdings, unemployment and other tax, e-file and pay information, general state, and agency information, and employer registration: Missouri Payroll Tax Compliance.
Keep in touch if you have additional questions or concerns. I’ll get back to make sure you’re taken care of. Have a great rest of the day.
