Join nowHave had this issue happen on and off very sporadically for the last year. Each time the export shortcut magically reappears on its own on the main landing page. The shortcut just disappeared again. While searching some old threads I stumbled onto something that worked for me. Logged into the QBO payroll file (missing the export shortcut on the main landing page). Then open a duplicate tab in the same browser and pasted in the following link..
https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/payroll/export-center
Once the page loaded I was able to export QBO Payroll transaction into a stand alone QBO accounting file as was the case in the past when the "export" shortcut was showing in my QBO payroll file.
I have now saved the link above and a bookmark.
Hope this helps.
try opening the following link the next time you are logged into yoru QBO payroll file

Next, ensure QuickBooks is updated to the latest release to access the recent features and fixes.
Afterward, download and install the most recent tax table to ensure compliance with paycheck calculations. Follow the steps below:
Following that, verify your system's time and date settings. If they are incorrect, make sure to update them. If the error continues, configure your Windows firewall and security settings for QuickBooks Desktop.
Once done, verify if the paychecks show. Then, run payroll for this week.

I am contemplating reaching out to Quickbooks Desktop to convert my quickbooks online so I can import our payroll through an iif file then bringing the file back to Quickbooks online. So frustrated
You can use the trial version of QB Desktop to convert data from QB Online.
I understand the frustration you're going through. Rest assured, I'm here to share information about QuickBooks Online import capabilities.
To begin with, after you export your payroll from QuickBooks Desktop as an IFF, we can convert it to a CSV file before importing it to QuickBooks Online. You can search for a file converter online that you can utilize, or you can look for a converter tool in QuickBooks App Market or select the Apps menu within your QBO.
Another option is to enter the year-to-date paycheck information. Feel free to check out these articles for further reference:
Additionally, you can also manually enter payroll paychecks in QuickBooks Online.
Moreover, this article can help you run a payroll report to check if your data is correct:
Let me know if you have further questions about importing your payroll or any QuickBooks-related queries. Keep safe.
