It's my priority for you to run payroll working in QuickBooks Online (QBO), brynermatt.
There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequent access to web pages or is damaged. When this happens, it causes odd behavior when accessing your Online account. To better isolate this issue, let's sign in to QBO using a private or incognito window. This helps us confirm browser-related issues since this mode doesn't use the existing cache data. Here's how:
- For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
- For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
- For Safari browser: Command + Option + P
Then, try creating the employee's paycheck again. Here's how:
- Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
- Select the dropdown, and choose one of the following options: Bonus only, Commission only, or Fringe benefits only.
- Choose As net pay or As gross pay.
- Enter any info about taxes or paycheck calculations (if applicable).
- Choose or review the QuickBooks bank account to track your payroll, the pay period, and the pay date.
- Select the employees you'd like to pay.
- Enter hours, compensation, memos, or any other paycheck info as necessary.
- Click Preview payroll.
- Hit Preview payroll details, Save for later, or Submit payroll.
- Confirm the amounts and payment methods and press Finish Payroll.
If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. Removing this should fix the issue since the overtime collection of data can create corruption. We can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.
Also, the page not loading completely if you are trying to access QBO with more than one browser tab simultaneously. You may see blank pages or pages not completely loading if you signed into the application separately in the additional tabs. Here's the correct way to work in more than one tab:
- While signing in to QuickBooks Online in one tab, go to the browser address bar.
- Highlight then copy the entire web address.
- Open a new browser tab.
- Paste the web address into the new tab then press Enter. The home page of your company will now load in the new tab.
