Join nowI have an admin login for quickbooks online for a client. I can't figure out how to edit a payroll item so that it points to the right place. When I am on the payroll screen with overview there is not option to do this.

Thanks.That got me farther than I have gotten before. Some employees get tips paid to them. This is not pointing to the "Tips Payable" on the balance sheet. I want to change that. I tried setting up a new Tips item but it give me no option to point it to an account.

Thank you for reaching back out to the Community! I'm glad we were able to help. When it comes to setting up and paying tips, there are a few special situations to consider. For example, if your employee earns less than $20 per month in tips, they are not subject to federal payroll taxes. Another example is Online Payroll doesn't support allocated tips as a pay type.
