Payroll Liabilities Adjustment (QBO)

I have a long running payroll liability balance for "401k benefits owed"; but the business has paid these (within each payroll).  How do I adjust this to be zero?

Thank you
Tay

Payroll Liabilities Adjustment (QBO)

Let me route you to the right support to get this taken care of right away, @tayd

Since the business has already paid this long-running payroll liability balance for 401k, you may need to contact our Customer Care Team for help in performing the payroll correction as well as the tax reporting for the payroll side. They'll be the one to do it for you as they have tools capable of pulling up your account in a secure environment, which we are unable to do so here in the Community, and perform payroll corrections upon a request.

To reach them, click the ? Help button at the top-right corner and select Contact Us to talk with a live agent. Ensure to review their support hours to know when agents are available.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help. Have a great day.

Payroll Liabilities Adjustment (QBO)

Hi Miriam,

Thank you for responding.  Just to confirm, we dont use QBs payroll service; but the automatic journal calculated through Gusto is causing the payroll liability.

Thanks

Payroll Liabilities Adjustment (QBO)

Thanks for adding a clarification, @tayd.

Since you're using a different payroll provider in handling your taxes, I'd recommend reaching out to them to correct your liabilities. They are the ones who can create an adjustment to correct your taxes.

I'm also including our Help articles for related references in managing your account and transactions in QuickBooks.
