QuickBooks is posting duplicate amounts to the GL expense account that tracks gross payroll. The weird transactions appear with description, "Gross amounts of wages types not in project." Up until most recent payroll, the amount being posted on this line was equal to the total of vacation and holiday pay for the salaried employees affected. The posting line that would normally populate for holiday and then vacation pay is not populating for these employees, and the posted line for Wages (Salary) now includes the holiday and vacation pay a second time. It is not happening to all salaried employees regardless of holiday and vacation pay status. This started last April, 2021. It stopped in August - October and then started again in November. When I contacted support last summer they said it was a system problem. Now, no one in support seems to know how to handle.

Thank you for your response. I am already working with Athena W to try to resolve the issue via support and have spent countless hours with support with no one able to figure out why this continues to happen. I do not plan to engage with another support person, but would welcome your input to Athena's investigation. She can provide information.
