Payroll Query

Hello, Im hoping someone can help me.

I only have one employee. She left at the end of march and she was replaced.

I pay on 14th of the month, ran payroll as usual in march and then did the leavers payroll at the end of march to obtain P45 etc.

I have come to run the new employees payroll today and its saying the payroll isn't due until May.

I have deleted the new employee and re-added however i'm still getting the same message.

I have a feeling that I cannot make changes due to the period being end of year etc.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

Payroll Query

I'll enlighten you about managing payroll schedules in QuickBooks Online (QBO, RachedlD2.

Once you run payroll for an employee or mark them as a leaver, you won't be able to edit, change, or delete their pay schedule. Thus, you can just add and use a new pay schedule for your new employee. The steps for this vary depending on your payroll plan.

For QBO Core Payroll, here's how you can add a new pay schedule:

  1. Go to Payroll and choose Employees.
  2. Select your employee.
  3. From the Employment details section, tap Start or Edit.
  4. From the Pay schedule dropdown, select + Add pay schedule.
  5. Choose a Pay frequencyNext payday, and End of next pay period.
  6. Enter a Pay schedule name. Then, hit Save.

Then, to assign this pay schedule to your employee, refer to the steps below:

  1. Go to Payroll and choose Employees.
  2. Select your employee.
  3. In the Employment details section, tap Start or Edit.
  4. From the Pay schedule dropdown, choose the pay schedule you made. Then, hit Save.

If you're using QBO Advanced Payroll or QBO Standard Payroll, refer to these resources below:

Moreover, I'll add this article to guide you on how to print and mail or email your pay slips to your employees: Email or download pay slips.
