We have two options on how to fix this, @highway5autocenter.
First, you can have an internal agreement with your employee to get the money. If he agrees, you can record this transaction to QuickBooks Online. Then contact our payroll support to help you with the necessary adjustments to make since taxes were already taken out.
The second option is to request a direct deposit reversal, which returns funds to your account. But before doing that, take note of the following information you need to know:
- There’s a $75 charge with a reversal request, even if you don’t get the money back.
- You will need to notify the employee or contractor of the reversal request.
- Reversal requests are not a guarantee that the funds will be recovered.
- The reversal transaction takes 5 business days to process from the requested date.
You can make a request between the 3rd and 5th day after the pay date. Here's how:
- Open the Direct Deposit Reversal form.
- Click New Request.
- Complete the required information and transaction information.
- Choose Save.
- Once the reversal is approved (see the next section for details), you can void the paycheck in your payroll records.
