Printing payroll checks

I have always used laser checks that are 3 to a page. No issues with printing checks to vendors, but I also subscribe to QBO payroll -- how do I print a payroll check using my 3-to-a-page laser checks? I do not need to print payroll stubs.

thanks

Printing payroll checks

Hi, FajitaI'm here to share some insights on printing payroll checks using your 3-to-a-page laser checks.

While QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll doesn't allow printing three checks on a single page without the paystubs, it can print a single paycheck using a 3-to-a-page laser check with one or two pay stubs included. You can review these payroll print options through these steps:

  1. In your QBO account, go to Payroll.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Select Paycheck list.
  4. Choose Change print settings.
  5. Scroll down to the Printing section and click on the pencil icon.
  6. Review the default printing preferences.

I would also recommend sending feedback to our product engineers within your QBO account, highlighting your experience with printing paychecks within QBO. This will help QuickBooks improve the user experience in its future updates.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

After this, let me add this guide about running customized payroll reports in QBO: Run payroll reports.

Let us know if you have more questions or concerns about printing paychecks in QBO Payroll. We'll do our best to assist. Take care.

Sorry to say, when I go to Payroll>Employees there is no Change Print Settings on this page.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll then select Employees.

RE: QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll doesn't allow printing three checks on a single page

Wow! So this is yet another way QuickBooks Desktop Payroll is better than QuickBooks Online Payroll!

Thanks for your help.  Well, just spent some time with a tech person via phone and shared screen. She was great but it turns out there ain't no way to use a standard 3-check page for payroll, and that all payroll checks MUST print with a check stub.

Really, a check stub? Are they delivered by horse and buggy?

Why can't QBO have at least the same features as desktop?

cheers,

RE: Why can't QBO have at least the same features as desktop?

Intuit has had 20 years to achieve feature parity in QuickBooks Online with Desktop. They're not even close and they don't seem to care anymore.

Intuit used to say that Online was for customers with very basic needs (which it is), but then they just changed their tune and now are trying to get everyone to convert to Online, even though they didn't change it to make that appropriate. I sometimes wonder if they actually believe that it's a reasonable replacement for Desktop. Can they be that dense?
