I received a notice from our state unemployment insurance agency, saying that QB Full Service Payroll did not pay the Q4 tax (withdrawn by them from our bank account on Jan 13) by the Jan 31 deadline, and that penalties are accrueing. I emailed the notice from the agency to taxnoticeresolution, after contacting general support. I then received an email saying I would be charged $50 for them to investigate the cause - this from a service that "guarantees" to cover any fees, penalties, etc. But they have no issue charging me a fee to investigate? This is insane.
Has anyone else encountered the new $50 fee charged by "Full Service Payroll" to handle tax notices sent to them?
Hello, @KenW. Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
To better assist you, I recommend calling into our Payroll Support. They have the tools that can look into your account and provide you the support you need. Here's how to get in touch:
I ensure that you'll hear from an agent in no time and get everything straightened out!
Let me know how the conversation goes. I'll be here if you have any other concerns.
Thank you for the reply, but that is exactly where I start every time. They then tell me to email the agency's notice to taxnoticeresolution (without mentioning the new $50 fee). Then the tax notice resolution group takes one or more days to assign a case number, then they start work. In this case, they have about two weeks to figure it out before the tax agency begins to charge me more for every employee's unemployment insurance.
Further, I called Support again this afternoon to inquire about the $50 fee; they confirmed that yes, it is now being charged. I can't fathom the audacity of the "guaranteed" payroll service charging a customer $50 to investigate a problem that is no way the fault of the customer. Again, the tax due had been removed from the bank account by full service payroll on Jan 13, and was to have been remitted to the agency by Jan 31.
Hi,
Yes, we've experienced the same thing and it is really infuriating. Intuit tells us that to investigate why the tax payment they made was late and why we, the company, were assessed a $100.00 late fee that we will be charged $50.00.
I would say we were previously a fairly happy customer. Now I feel like, just keep this up and we'll go somewhere else. We have Intuit to take care of all this tax stuff so we don't have to, not to charge us to fix their errors and mistakes.
Whoever they put in charge of the taxnoticeresolution dept - should be moved elsewhere. Or is Intuit just going to wait until customers start dropping the payroll service to realize what is painfully obvious.
A formerly happy customer.
They failed to file my Q2 CA state returns and informed me of the $50 charge as well. So, they are negligent and screw up our returns and then charge us? Very irritating!
