qbo payroll tracking

Hi,

 

What would I do if clients have teams they want to track in payroll and get meaningful reports?  Can they use location or division to get those results?

I'd be glad to provide options for tracking payroll in QuickBooks Online.

 

Your client can subscribe to QuickBooks Online Payroll to track their payroll. I recommend sharing the Plans and Pricing page to let them choose the product they want to use.

 

Once done, they need to complete a few tasks before they can pay your team. Here’s a handy guide to help you get set up: Get started with QuickBooks Online Payroll.

 

Alternatively, your client has the option to utilize the Class tracking feature, which involves a manual entry process. Here are the steps to follow:

 

To start, turn on class tracking:

 

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Advanced, then select the Categories section to edit.
  3. Checkmark Track classes.
  4. Checkmark Warn me when a transaction isn't assigned a class. This is optional, but it means that when you look at reports, you know everything's been classified.
  5. Under Assign classes, select One to entire transaction or One to each row in transaction.*
  6. Select Save, then Done.

 

After that, you can set up your class list.

 

Once done, enter the payroll paychecks manually into QuickBooks Online. Make sure to select the class you've created.
