QBO Payroll

First time doing payroll with QBO and with new client. I have records from previous CPA. CPA's records show salary (1120) minus employee deductions (166.41) equal net pay of 953.59.
QBO shows salary (1120) minus EMPLOYER expenses (85.30)  equals 1033.85 and THEN subtracts the employee withholdings (143.73) which equals a net pay of $890.12.

QBO Payroll

Hi there, @thedetailedadmin.

With QuickBooks Online, employers' expenses are not deducted from the employees' pay. I'm here to guide you with the correct process to get accurate payroll calculations.

First, review the employee's set up and deductions:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account, then click on Payroll at the left pane.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Tap on the employee's name.
  4. Click on the pencil icon beside the Pay section.
  5. Double-check the employee's setup from there.

For additional resources, here's how you can set up QuickBooks Online Payroll and add an employee.

To correct the net pay calculation, you can void/delete the payroll recorded.

  1. Select Payroll, then select Employees.
  2. Tap on the Paycheck list.
  3. Look for the paycheck(s) you'd like to delete, then select Delete.
  4. Click Yes.

After that, recreate the employee/s' payroll.

To stay complaisant with the state payroll tax regulations, you can also check out the information from this link: Payroll Tax Compliance.

QBO Payroll

Thank you, here's the thing: You see on your example, the employee's gross pay is $4000? Well my employee's gross pay is 1033.95 and it should be 1120. I've turned this into QB via chat with a rep yesterday and even though I was told I would hear something back yesterday, I've heard nothing.

Also, I cannot delete a paycheck on the list because it says the newest needs to be deleted, there are only 2 and they both say the same thing.
