Can someone please inform all of us when these two forms will be finalized? Many accountants count on your software to manage our client’s filing needs and the lack of communication on this matter is going to alienate a large customer base for Intuit.
Intuit - Please provide an update as to when the forms will be available. We have well over 100 clients that we prepare payroll taxes for and this is holding up our process as well as billing clients for the work we have completed.
Generally like to get my payroll tax returns completed by Jan. 7-10 so that I can turn attention to closing the books on by business tax returns. This delay does cause us all to start the season 'behind'. Why not just tell us what is going on? Prior QB responses to the same question were clearly inadequate. Still waiting.......
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, JhuberCPA.
While the IRS may've already released a particular form, it can take time for our Product Development team to set up this function properly in the product. You can review our Latest payroll news and updates article to stay up-to-date with the latest information about payroll updates. This will ensure you know when a form you're curious about is officially released in QuickBooks.
Once a form you're waiting for is available in your books, you'll need to make sure to update the tax table to its latest release.
Here's how:
After upgrading the tax table, you can begin filing forms.
If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
When is the the desktop Form 940 scheduled to be released? It is already functioning in other QB products. Thanks.
Way to avoid answering the question. The form was released by the IRS on 12/3/21. There were NO changes to the form other than the year. Intuit has had a month to complete the setup and yet here we are. Why is this form available on QuickBooks Online but not Desktop? I will be taking my business elsewhere.
As has been the case in the recent responses from the QuickBooks team on the other threads, there is still no date as to when can expect the next release. And, there is absolutely nothing in the Latest News and Update Article that provides this information. The IRS released these tax forms in early December and we are now 4 days into January. I understand it takes time to for the product development team to complete their updates, but here it is a month later and we are still waiting.
I was just able to download an update that included the Form 940. Good Luck!
You may want to double check on that. Release 22201 states that the form 940 and 943 are included but that is not the case. Try it for yourself...go into a form 940 and you will see that the form is still marked as "Draft".
STATUS UPDATE
I decided to use to power of Social Media to bring this to Intuit's attention. Amazingly....in a matter of less than 5 minutes, a representative from QuickBooks replied to my post and informed me that the 940 should be released with the next payroll update on.....January 13, 2022.
I just did another payroll update and both the 940 and 943 forms are now available.
And the 943 was in the update as well. Finally!!
I have been able to e-file (2) Forms 940, without a Draft error.
That said, I am using the Reporting Agent version.
So am I...tried to re-download release and bombed out. Went back in and can now e-file. What a mess.
