Accidentally paid overtime

I just ran payroll and accidentally put the hours in the overtime section. Can I edit this since our payroll isn't due until 5pm? If not, what do I do to remedy this?

Accidentally paid overtime

Yes, you can, @AZ Lawn.

 

You'll need to delete and recreate the paycheck to get around this issue. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and select the Employees tab.
  2. Click the Paycheck list link to open the submitted paycheck
  3. On the Paycheck list page, click the amount under the Net Pay column to open the paycheck details.
  4. Click the Delete button from the Paycheck page.
  5. Put a check-mark in the I understand that this action cannot be undone checkbox, then click Delete Paycheck.

Once done, you can now seamlessly run your payroll again. Ensure to enter accurate information to avoid any errors.
