Account Closed Void Checks

Why would the option to void a check not be allowed if a check was replaced and issued from a different account? The transactions are for current months and the bank reconciliation is not up to date.

Account Closed Void Checks

Hi MikiD,
I did all this, now due to this and after the checks have been replaced through a different account my access to view transaction has been taken away by the CFO. So, from my understanding after working in book keeping for many years is ethical to leave a trail on all changes and transactions recorded,  leaving a live check active is not recommended. It can either seem not paid if proper notes are not documented  or get clear through the bank recon on error or intentionally and seemed paid. I thought I might had been missing something. But, no. Thank you for your feedback.

Account Closed Void Checks

Hi there, pdlctrivino.

You should always have an option to void the check even if it’s a replacement or coming from a different account. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Reports at the top. Select Reports Center.
  2. Search Transaction List by Date on the search box.
  3. Click Run report and click the Customize tab at the top.
  4. Go to Filter tab.
  5. Search Transaction type under Choose Filter.
  6. Select Check as the transaction type then click OK.
  7. Set the date range.
  8. Locate the check and double click the amount to open.
  9. Click the drop down arrow under Delete and select Void.
