Hello there, Sewxcited.
Yes, you can add mileage or trips as a total to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account and I'm here to guide you throughout the process.
Here's how:
- Select Miles.
- Edit the Date.
- Add a start and end address. Keep in mind that it's just optional.
- Enter the distance in the Add miles field.
- Add a Trip purpose note.
- Once done, click Save.
However, QBSE calculates mileage deduction based on its total business miles and uses the standard mileage rate regardless of how many trips you took.
Moreover, you can also categorize your trips whenever you reach your destination. I'd be glad to show you how:
- Choose Mileage on the menu.
- Find and categorize your trip. To categorize it as Business, swipe left. For Personal, swipe right.
- Add a business purpose if this was a business trip. You can also tag a vehicle keep in mind that this is just also optional.
- Hit Save once done.
Furthermore, I've added some resources you can browse for you to be able to categorize any vehicle-related expenses so you have all the info you need when you file your taxes:
Lastly, I've also got some helpful articles you can check out in case you need assistance how to enter and change info about the vehicle you use for work:
