Can I print payroll checks with a signature in QB Online like I did in QB Desktop?

I was able to print my paychecks with my signature on them when I used QB Desktop.  I was forced to switch to QB Online.  Can I print my paychecks with my signature on them in the Online version like I could before or is this another reason for me to despise QB Online?

I’m here to help so you can print paychecks with your signature in QuickBooks Online, @Southerncharmhc.

There’s no option to print payroll checks with signature in QuickBooks Online like in QuickBooks Desktop. You may consider using a third-party app to achieve it.

You can visit QuickBooks Apps Center or go to your Apps menu within your QuickBooks account to look for a tool.

Here’s how:

  1. From your left navigation pane, select Apps.
  2. Enter a keyword on the Search field, then choose.
  3. You can click the Overview, Pricing, Reviews, and FAQs to view the details.
  4. Select Get app now.

In case you run issues while printing paychecks or pay stubs, check out this guide for fixes: Troubleshoot printing paychecks, pay stubs, and forms.

Also, you might want to pay your employees through direct deposit in the future. It takes the hassle out of paying employees with a paper check and makes processing more efficient.

If you have any other questions or concerns besides printing payroll checks with a signature, please don't hesitate to let me know. I’ll be here. Always take care!

That’s what I was afraid of. QB Online is not half the program Desktop Pro 2019 was before I was forced to change. Apparently there’s a Desktop Pro I can get an annual subscription to that I wasn’t told about when I switched. Online just isn’t up to par to what I need.  The signature issue is just icing on the cake of a long list of issues with Online. I just wish all the pop ups would have talked about a new Desktop Pro instead of pushing me towards Enterprise or Online.

I FOUND A SOLUTION!  This might help some of you.

I was able to add an "image watermark" to my home office printer, an inkjet Brother.  It took a short while to position and scale my signature image, but now when I print my checks, the signature is automatically there.  It only prints on the saved profile I use for checks so it doesn't show up on any other of my printouts.  QuickBooks Online should have this functionality, but maybe you can add it to your setup like I did.
