Can you help me with running a payroll summary for an insurance audit?

Our non-profit business is dissolving and our Worker's Comp insurance wants us to complete an audit. QBO will not do a payroll summary for the period. All employees are now terminated but were still working during the audit period. I am still paying extra monthly for payroll support for this very reason! Yet, QBO will not run this report.

Can you help me with running a payroll summary for an insurance audit?

Hello, jamie.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. You can run the Payroll Summary by Employee report. This will show, wages, deductions, and tax info, totaled by employee or period (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Find the Payroll section, then Payroll Summary by Employee.
  3. Set a date range from the drop-down.
  4. Select the single employee or group of employees.
  5. Choose how you’d like your columns to be viewed by (by employee, weekly, bi-weekly, etc).
  6. Check the corresponding boxes if you’d like total Hours or Rates to be shown.
  7. Lastly, select Run Report

Can you help me with running a payroll summary for an insurance audit?

Thank you for trying to help. Actually I am quite familiar with running reports of all kinds on QBO. However, recently our business decided to close and all employees were terminated. Now, in spite of the fact that I still pay extra keeping a subscription to payroll Core active, I cannot access any payroll reports! We had active employees until March 21, 2021. This makes no sense.

Service has gotten so bad when interacting with supposed "expert" agents that I just can't waste hours with them for little or no results. Last time I had an issue getting a form to view/print (QBO leaves many things unresolved when working with Macs and their Safari browser) and they were unable to resolve the issue. I ended up remembering a work around from years ago that a real competent agent had suggested at the time, and that fixed the problem. This will all be over soon but in the meantime I am doing this extra work as a former employee! I will be reimbursed as a contractor but I'd rather find more productive ways to use my time. Sorry to vent on you since it is not your fault, but the frustration is real!
