To update the business address on your W-2s, you need to change your company's legal address.
Here are the steps to make that correction:
- From your QuickBooks Desktop home screen, go to the Company menu and then select My Company.
- Next, in the Company Information window that appears, look for the pencil icon on the right side and click it. It will allow you to edit your company details.
- In the Edit Company Information window, locate the Legal Information section. You will find the legal address fields here. It's crucial to update this specific address.
- After updating the legal address, click OK to save the changes.
Please note that this change applies to any new W-2s you print. If you've already submitted last year's W-2s, this change won't affect them. The updated address will be used for the current tax year's forms.
