Changing a payroll method from direct deposit to cheque

This used to be a simple question in your employees payroll file: "How do you want to pay this employee?", but I can't seem to find that option, and now all new employees are automatically added as having a payment method of "Direct Deposit", except, I don't use direct deposit on payroll, and I can't change it.

When I go to "Run Payroll" and try to change it from there, like all the help articles tell me to, it's not an option. It just tells me I have to finish setting up the employee profile, except when I go to do that, there's no place for me to put payment method information.

Changing a payroll method from direct deposit to cheque

Hello, jcq-brssr29.

The question in the employees' profile for payment method is now updated to How would you like to pay [employee name]?. I'll show you where to set this information so you can keep their account updated and run payroll accordingly.

The Payment method is now a separate section in the employee's profile. To change it from direct deposit to paper check, you'll have to go to the Profile tab and scroll down to the said section. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then Employees.
  2. Select your employee.
  3. In the Profile tab, scroll down to the Payment method section.
  4. From the Payment method, select Start or Edit80.PNG
  5. In the Select payment method window, select Paper check to answer the How would you like to pay [employee name]? question.
  6. Click Save81.PNG
