Delivery

Hello everyone.

Sometimes, I need to add a delivery charge to an invoice. The problem is that since I pay commissions to my sales reps, how do I do it so that when I get the sales reps' reports I don't count the deliveries as sales.

Thank you.

Hi there, @miguel-hgh-pharm. Helping you with adding delivery charges to your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is my goal today. I'm here to guide you through the process.

You may use a service item to input a delivery charge to your transaction. You can set it up through the Products and Services window. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Products and Services.
  3. Select New, then Service.
  4. In the Name field, enter a name for the item (Delivery Charge).
  5. From the Category dropdown, select the category that best describes the fee. Find out more about item categories.
  6. Fill out the rest of the fields.
  7. Click on Save and Close.

I'm also adding this article for your detailed reference: Manually add service fees to invoices in QuickBooks Online.

When you track your customer's invoice, tag each line by class so you can run your sales report without counting the deliveries.

  1. Go to the +New icon, then click on Invoice.
  2. Enter the information.
  3. Fill in the details, then save.a27 1.PNG

After that, pull up your sales report then filter it by class. You may only select the class for sales or commission-based items.

On the other hand, you can review the resources from these links for more hints while managing your customer payments and other sales entries in the future:

Dear Angelyn,

Thanks for replying soon.

What I exactly need is when I do the sales reps' reports.

If i.e. I do an invoice with a $20 product and add a $5 delivery charge. That sales rep will have a commission based on the product she sold, excluding the delivery which goes to my office boy who actually does the deliveries in my office.

How do I generate the sales reps' report without the deliveries?

I hope I make myself explained.

Thanks again.

Thank you for getting back to the thread and for taking the time to explain further to us, miguel. I'm here to share some details about your concern and help you with pulling up a sales report without the delivery charge.

The option to pull up a Sales by rep report in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable, this option is only available in QuickBooks Desktop version. With that, I'd like to know what type of Sales Rep report you pull up in QBO?

On the other hand, for you to pull up sales report that you want to show the total of the product excluding the delivery fees in QBO is you'll need to create a class, then tag each item that is eligible for the commission with the tag.  Then, you can run a class report and sort by customer or rep

Furthermore, if you add class as a reps in QBO, you can run the Sales by Class Detail report. Then customize it by filtering the class as your sales rep and the Products/services that you want to show on the report, excluding the delivery fee.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports on the left side menu.
  2. Search for the Sales by Customer Detail in the search bar.
  3. Click Customize, then make the following customization.
  4. Tap the Filter dropdown. Tick the Class then select the classes you want to show on the report and for the Product/Services check box, the select the products or services you want to add on that report excluding the delivery fee.
  5. Then select Run report to save changes.

You can also customize report and memorize it to save its current customization settings. It will serve as your record and help you quickly access it for future use.

If you have any additional information about this report concern, feel free to comment down below. I'll be around. Keep safe!
