Hi @TBA24

I'm here to offer an alternative solution for paying your payroll taxes to the State of Colorado.

Given that the state no longer issues ten-digit EFT numbers, you can manually record the payment in QuickBooks Desktop and then pay your taxes outside the program. Here's how you can still track your payroll tax due dates, even without e-payments:

  1. Go to the Employees menu, select Payroll Taxes and Liabilities, and then Edit Payment Due Dates/Methods.
  2. Click Schedule payments.
  3. Select the state tax you want to schedule first and click Edit.
  4. From Payment method, choose Check.
  5. Enter your state account number (or leave it blank if unavailable).
  6. Select the Payment Frequency provided to you by the state agency.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for each state tax. When finished, select Continue.
  8. Select the bank account you’ll use to track payments in QuickBooks, then select Edit. This should match the bank account you used to register with the IRS and state agencies.
  9. Click Finish.

After paying your taxes outside QuickBooks, record and print your tax payment:

  1. Go back to the Employees menu, then click Payroll Taxes and Liabilities.
  2. Select Pay Scheduled Liabilities.
  3. Choose the tax you want to pay from the list, then select View/Pay. You can review the taxes and amounts due.
  4. Click Save & Close.
  5. Select Print Checks.

Finally, prepare and print your tax forms. For detailed instructions, refer to our article: How to prepare and print your payroll tax payments and forms in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll so you ca....

If you have any questions about this process, please don't hesitate to add them to the thread, @TBA24. We're here to help ensure your payroll operations run smoothly.
