Does Quickbooks online have a pay rate history I can access to find the dates of previous raises?

Hello there, @KFLandscapes.  Thank you for your inquiry about the Pay Rate History Report in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As of now, QBO does not have a specific Pay Rate History Report. However, I have a workaround that may help you gather the information you need.

You can run the Payroll Details report in QBO, which provides detailed information about your employees, including their pay rate, pay type, and other relevant payroll data. This report can give you a comprehensive view of the historical pay rates for your employees.

To run the Payroll Details report, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Reports from the left menu.
  2. Click the Standard tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Payroll section, then choose Payroll Details.
  4. Change the Date Range and choose the desired Employee.
  5. Click Run Report.

You can also visit the Run payroll reports to learn more about other available business statements of your employees.

Additionally, I encourage you to provide feedback to Intuit regarding your need for a Pay Rate History Report in QBO. Intuit values customer feedback and uses it to improve its products and services. You can submit your feedback directly through the QBO platform by going to the Gear icon > Feedback.

Also, you'll want to visit our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website to track the status of your submitted feedback. You can also visit our blog to keep up with recent events and developments.

I've also added these articles as your reference in preparing your payroll tax forms in QuickBooks:

Except, unless I am missing something, the Payroll Details report does not actually give you the employee's pay rate as you suggest here.  Nor is that an option under the 'customize' menu.

Please share where you see the employee's pay rate on this report.

Thank you

This does not work. Just add the report already or post why you can't. Quit with the nonsense canned responses.

uniHi there, 303forMe.

I have another way to view an employee's Pay rate in the report. You can find an employee's pay rate in the Employee details report in QuickBooks Online. This report shows the range of information about your employees. This includes their name, address, email address, phone number, social security number, hire date, termination date (if applicable), pay rate, and total compensation.

You can also view details on any deductions made from their pay, such as taxes, benefits, and other contributions. Additionally, the report provides information on any time off requests or balances and a summary of their earnings and taxes paid for the selected period.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports from the left menu.
  2. Select Reports, and in the search bar, enter Employee Details.
  3. Under Customize, mark check all the necessary info you want to include in the report.
  4. Click Run report.

I've attached a link to an article that shows the list of reports available in your account: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription.

I have included some articles you can use as references for managing your reports in QuickBooks Online. These articles cover various topics, including how to create, customize, and run reports in QuickBooks and export and share your reports with others. We are not looking for the pay rate. We are looking for the pay rate history. A report that shows all the different rates a single employee earned and the dates that rate applied. This report was easily available on QuickBooks Desktop.

Hello there, @Paula J.

Currently, the report that shows the pay rate history of your employees isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As a workaround, you can run the Employee details or Payroll Summary by Employee reports since they provide similar info you're looking for.

On top of that, I see how useful it would be to view the pay rate history of your employees. We suggest sending feedback to our Product Engineers. They might add this to our future product developments. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear ⚙ icon, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Feel free to track the feature requests you submitted through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

You may want to learn how to get the most out of your reports, check out this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

For additional queries in managing your reports or employee payroll info, don't hesitate to reply to this post. I'll gladly help you with that. Keep safe.

They don't have the report. And apparently don't know how to create it.

You have to create it yourself.

I've started spreadsheets with the employee history information.

QuickBooks may be one of the largest payroll processors in the US, but they are not the best.

Here we are over three years out with the same request for a history of employee payrates. Please have the programmers for Quickbooks Online provide the same report that is available in Desktop. One would assume that your programmers speak with each other and can share the code. Quickbooks please do not reply with your usual canned replies.

You know do these feedback concerns do nothing right???

PLEASE!  ALL ADVISORS AND ADMINS NEED TO STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO DO FEEDBACK!

It is pointless and a waste of our time.  Quickbooks does not listen to what the customers want and implement it- no!  They give us nonsense because they have coders making things look pretty instead of functionality.

Don't bother telling me otherwise- because this thread alone, goes back YEARS!!

There is a simple solution- code quickbooks online to be an identical version of all quickbooks desktop features and you will have happy people.

A WAGE HISTORY IS THE MOST BASIC OF NEEDS FOR A BUSINESS!!  Yet you all want to tell people work a rounds.

My suggestion to everyone wanting to track wages- make a note in each employee's qbo file.  There is a tab at the top for notes.  It is super time consuming to back track and grab the data, but once in there- always on hand.

They were too busy changing the format of invoicing, making us relearn a simple task that didn't need fixing. . .
