E-filing W2s and Ohio IT 3

Hello, E-file question from Ohio:

This will be the 1st year we will e-file W2s through QB Accountant Desktop. When a W2 is e-filed will the state automatically receive their information (wages/state & school withholding) indicating the we no longer have to file the Ohio IT3?

Thank you

E-filing W2s and Ohio IT 3

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query regarding e-filing W2s and Ohio IT3, 46Sandy.

I'll be happy to share some information on this topic.

In the event of e-filing the form, it will not be automatically accepted by the state. Instead, it will be submitted through Intuit. Subsequently, Intuit will transmit the e-filed form to your tax agency. Once the agency successfully processes the form and the transaction is complete, you will be notified with a status of Agency accepted.

You can use our check the status of your payroll tax payments or filings sent through QuickBooks Payroll to track the status of the payroll tax forms you submitted electronically through QuickBooks to the IRS or state agencies.

Moreover, these resources can serve as a valuable reference for guidance on printing W2s, wrapping up this year's payroll, and preparing for the next year with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll:
