Electronic State Income Tax Payments

I have had QB payroll services online for several months and my NC income tax is still not being paid electronically. I've completed setup and sent in Reporting Agent Authorization. Can't seem to get any clear answer on why automatic payments are still not possible several months later. Telephone support says: Sorry and we will fix right away, but nothing.  Any help is appreciated.

At this time, we have a reported case about the error when paying electronic taxes. Rest assured our product engineers are working on the fix. As a workaround, you'll want to pay your state tax directly to the state agency's website. 

 

Also, to ensure you'll get an update about the resolution status, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. This way, they can add your company to the list of affected users.

 

Here's how to reach out:

 

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue, then tap Continue.
  4. Click either Chat or Callback.

I have done this more than once.  I have case numbers, etc.  But nothing has changed and no one notifies me of any issues.  They just say that it will be fixed and then nothing happens.  I will attempt to reach out again.  It is unfortunate that there is no email help.  Apparently "help" is only available during business hours.  Why do I have to chat or call business hours?  Is email help not possible?  My hours are different that yours.

Normally, you'll get an email notification from our team about the status of the reported case. I suggest you check your spam and/or junk folders to make sure that emails from us are not blocked. You can reply through email as long as it gives you the option.

 

 

To make sure that someone is available to assist, you'll need to contact support during business hours.

 

If you want to follow up on the ongoing investigation, you can contact Payroll Support through chat or by phone.

I had another long phone chat with customer service regarding this problem.  The outcome was: "just wait". Even though I've been waiting for 4 months, that is the only thing they offer.  They say that it is in the hands of the state to respond, which may be true, but they offer no help to resolve it.  They have no record of their state request that they are willing to show me.  The customer service agent was very understanding and polite, but she could do nothing but say "sorry".  I asked if it is possible to contact the state again to make sure they got the request:  She said that I could call them myself.... but could not tell me who to speak to or what I'm supposed to ask them.  The value of this payroll service is severely diminished for me when I have to manually pay my tax and manually enter it into the system.  Probably have to switch if something does not get fixed by year end.  FYI: I used to receive this service free through Bank of America, but 4 months ago I was forced to switch to a paid plan at $49/mo.  The fact that the service doesn't fully function just adds another layer of disappointment.

Let me route you to the appropriate support group to address your concerns seamlessly.

 

Since you're having issues paying your state income taxes electronically, it's best to get in touch with our customer support. They'll be able to pull up your account securely and update you with the e-payment status of your state income taxes.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Help icon and select the Search tab.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Provide a summary of your concern and select Continue.
  4. Choose between Chat with us and Have us call you.

 

Moreover, we can manage our automatic tax payments and form filings in QBO. This way, we can choose how we want them to be handled. We can pay and file your federal and state payroll taxes for you, or you can opt to pay and file them yourself.

I have exactly the same issue with my NC payroll taxes. Going on since February 2024 and no answers after multiple calls.

I have the same issue and QBs looks and says that the setup looks right, but I continue to get the notice that I need to pay manually to NC.  Pretty frustrating when this has gone on for months and now I see that it is not just me.

It appears that you've contacted our support before, but the problem persists. As much as I'd love to help you with your issue of NC income tax not being paid electronically, we're unable to check your account here in the Community space for security reasons.

 

To assist you further, I'd still advise getting in touch with our support staff once again to follow up on your case and investigate the problem further. Follow the steps below to reach them:

 

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select the Search tab, then choose Contact Us.
