Employee Direct Deposit Report

We are integrating our payroll to another payroll provider and need to send them a Direct Deposit report with each employee's individual bank account numbers, but in QB, the numbers are hidden except for the last 4 digits of the account number.

I'm trying to figure out how to generate a report with each employee's bank routing and account numbers into an Excel spreadsheet. Is there a way to do this?  I greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Employee Direct Deposit Report

Thank you for adding a post, @lauracritt.

For the security of your account and your employee's information, the system only displays the last four digits of the bank account numbers. The good news is, yes, you can export the employee details or direct deposit report to Excel, then customize the numbers from there. I can guide you on how.

  1. Log in to your IOP account, then look for the report you need.
  2. Open the report you need, then tap on the View in Excel button.
  3. Customize the information, and add the bank details from there.
  4. Save the data.

Just in case you want to export your IOP data to QBO, you can as well open this article for your reference.

Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately, I think I'm using a different version of quickbooks. When I chatted with support, they stated I'm using full service payroll and they don't have access to help me. I'm waiting to speak with someone else, so hopefully this will be resolved soon!

Apparently it is not possible to unhide the routing and account numbers using full service payroll. I will have to manually pull the hard copy forms and enter all of the information myself. I'm very disappointed that there is no other option. Again, I do thank you for your help and wish I was using the other platform.

I'm also extremely upset that this is an easily accessible report in QB Desktop but in Online you can't get the information out. I understand not wanting it to be accessible to everyone who has access to the QBO file, but if the person has access to the payroll area they should be able to get to it.  This is ridiculous, as someone else stated it means that we have to keep all the information lying around in our system somewhere else then and this isn't secure or helping anyone to not be able to get this information out of the system easily.  This is super irritating.

Employee Direct Deposit Report

Hello, csweet.

I, for one, would also like a universal feature accessibility for all versions on a certain program. That said, I'll lay down some options for you on accessing the employees' bank details for the Online version.

In the meantime, you'll want to get a hardcopy of your employees' bank information as what lauracritt pointed out.

Alternatively, if you want to verify and edit their bank details, manually pull their profiles one at a time and make the changes.

I do see the importance of having a bank information report for employees in the Online version. It would make it easier for you to see and verify their information.

For now, I would suggest sending feedback to our developers regarding the bank information report for QuickBooks Online Payroll. Click on the Gear icon, then select Feedback

If you'd like to run other payroll reports, you can check this article for more details: Run payroll reports.

If you need some assistance paying your payroll tax liabilities in the future, this article will help you out: Pay and file payroll taxes and forms in Online Payroll.

I'll hear you out if you have other concerns regarding QuickBooks Online Payroll. If you happen to come across any obstacles while recording your transactions or managing your lists, please let me know and I'll lend a hand.
