Employee needs W4 updated. Need to turn off employee self-setup. How do I turn off the employee self-setup?

Tried multiple edit buttons but option not there.  Employee not comfortable doing it himself.

It's great to see you back in the Community! I can give you some details about turning off the employee self-setup. 

 

To clarify, are you using QuickBooks Online or Desktop? This will determine what steps you need to take to turn off this set up. 

 

QuickBooks Desktop

 

  1. Go to the Employees menu. 
  2. Select Manage Payroll Cloud Services.
  3. Under QuickBooks Workforce, turn OFF Workforce.

QuickBooks Online: 

 

  1. Go to the Payroll tab. 
  2. Choose Employees
  3. Pick the Employee. 
  4. Press Actions, then choose Turn off Workforce access

Cannot turn off employee "self setup" without removing their access to Workforce.

Why are we solving an access issue with a howitzer?

We now have an ongoing issue with the exact problem you mentioned. Please ensure that our engineers are developing a potential fix.

 

For the time being, I advise getting in touch with our payroll assistant to include you in the list of affected users. You will be alerted in this way when a patch becomes available. Please check our support hours so you may reach out to us at a time that works for you.

 

Follow this guide:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the? Help button at the top right corner.
  3. Go to the Search tab, then select Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief discussion with your concern, then click Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us: Get a callback.
