Join nowRecently, a pop up for Guideline 401K service was added to our QB. It would not let me click on Maybe later, and would not go away. Since this appeared, I am experiencing error messages and disruptions. I have made 3 calls to QB Support. Running the remove program/repair tool seems to work for a while, but the issues come back.
In one of my calls to QB support, the tech suggested that I call Guideline to see if there was a way to opt out, hoping that this would then remove it from our system. I called Guideline, and after I explained how their ad was causing issues on our system, the rep actually tried to sell me the service!!
Now, I receive emails from Guideline's Sales Development Representatives. Here is the disclaimer included in the emails.
1At the time of this endorsement, Intuit (the “Solicitor”) is not a client of Guideline. Guideline pays a fee for each 401(k) & SEP IRA client referred by the Solicitor, as outlined in Guideline’s written solicitation arrangement with the Solicitor. Additional disclosures will be provided to you by Guideline prior to opening an account with Guideline.
We pay way too much in monthly fees to Inuit for it to allow this spam.
In my last call to QB, the tech said that they are aware and that the developers are working on a fix. Hopefully, they find a way to remove this soon, and Intuit ends this arrangement with Guideline.
The attached pdf includes the original pop up, and the subsequent messages.

I have the same issue. During payroll, qb will crash and give me a message about transferring info to guideline. Since the guideline info pop up, it changed the way employees are listed and wanted me to update all profiles. I called QB and they were no help , said they couldn't take the program off and told me to call guideline. They told me there isnt anyway to turn anytjing off because I'm not enrolled in their program. So frustrating there isn't a way to turn this program off.
Same issue keeps happening and guideline thing comes up when I click on pay employees. and crashes. What a scammers . Intuit is doing something very illegal,. Why the hell they are trying to transfer information to guideline when I never signed up for their service. Called customer service and they wasted so much time with me asking me to do
Yes I have the same problem. Ever since clicking a link to just find out their pricing (and deciding not to proceed), QB continues to send my info to Guideline on a regular basis and it crashes Quickbooks each time it does this.
I just spent an hour on a remote session with Intuit, and ultimately they said they couldn't fix it.
Hello there, @pMetal.
I know how challenging it is when QuickBooks Desktop crashes when you process a function.
I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop live support again to have this case investigated. They have the right tools to look into the issue and escalate it to the product engineers. You can also receive updates about the case.

I don't think you read the post. I already spent an hour on the phone with tech support to try and resolve this without success.
We all have to join together and file a lawsuit against Intuit since they are not only forcing the 401K service on you but also stealing the information of your employees too and giving to Guidelines. I called guidelines , they connected me to Sale rep , he was helpful and asked me to send an email saying that my company had begun the enrollment process but didn't go through completely. I was going like "what the f....". I never ever signed or started to looking into signing up for Guidelines.
Still it is crashing......
Only way is to get the hell out of intuit.....
