Had 3 employees on auto payroll, added a 4th employee and now they're the only ones getting paid, does anyone know why? Everyone is still on payroll, marked to be paid.

Hello there, @thefinerthings19.

I've got your back. I'm here to provide insights to help you get through this issue so you can pay your employees using the Auto Payroll feature seamlessly.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to see if this is a system issue. Just ensure you're signed in to QBO as the primary admin. Then let's proceed to unenroll the employees and add them back again. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then Payroll Settings
  2. In the Auto Payroll box, select Edit ✎.
  3. Choose Select employees for Auto Payroll.
  4. Select one or more of the enrolled employees.
  5. Click Save Changes, then select Done.

After that, follow the steps above until Step 3, then add all the employees you wish to include on Auto Payroll. Review the confirmation display for the total number of employees and important dates related to your Auto Payroll processing, then select Done.

In the meantime, I suggest paying your other employees manually for this pay period. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then Run Payroll.
  2. Select Prefer to pay manually this period? on the employees you wish to pay manually.
  3. Enter the date, pay schedule, and edit any pay items for this payroll.
  4. Tap on Preview payroll and then Submit payroll.

Rest assured, the Auto Payroll will start again on your next pay run. For more information about this, please refer to this article: Manage your Auto Payroll.

Additionally, a number of payroll reports are available for you to generate. This will give you a closer look at your employee's total wages, deductions, and tax information in a certain period. For the complete list and details on how to pull up these reports, kindly refer to this article: Run payroll reports.

Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns about managing your payroll transactions in QBO. I'll be here to lend a helping hand. Have a great day ahead!

Hi there, plitho.

I'm here to ensure you're able to add the hours separately.

Beforehand, may I know where do you want to add the hours in QuickBooks Online? Adding additional details will help us successfully resolve this. A screenshot would be a great help too.

Please know that we're always here to help you out. I'll keep an eye on your response. Keep safe!
