Has everyone else lost the ability to enter QB payroll in the hours/minutes format? (I.e., 7:41 versus 7.68.)
This auto-convert functionality seems to have been lost in the last "upgrade". This was a significant time-saver in my payroll processing time, and now needing to covert every employee timecard to a decimal hour is a hinderance. (And have heard same from a couple clients.)
Why would said functionality be removed?
Hey there, @ctmorgan78.
It's great to see you back in the Community!
I can see how beneficial this would be for your business. However, this isn't available in QuickBooks Online Payroll anymore.
With that being said, we periodically do updates to help improve the system for you and other users. You can submit feedback to our Product Developers so they consider adding this back to the system.
Also, keep up with what's new in the product by reviewing our Blog site.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions or concerns. We're always here to lend a helping hand. Best wishes!
Hi Candice.
"Isn't available" is a nice way of saying "eliminated functionality." Why is it that when I called into support last week, was told that this was a known issue that was being worked on?
The rest of this message is (candidly!) fluff. Submitting feedback never results in a response; and what am I going to see in What's New. More functionality that previously existed that has been eliminated?
Chris
Is this still the case? Should we be manually converting all hours:minutes to decimals in payroll?
It seems very clunky. I'm hoping there is a setting to change the payroll form to accept hours and minutes format.
Hi there, YolandeCR.
I recognize the convenience of entering the hours and minutes in payroll. You may send a request directly to our developers to have this format.
Since inputting hours:minutes automatically changes into decimals, let's send feedback from your QuickBooks account. They can consider this for future updates depending on the number of requests. Follow the instructions below:
In the meantime, you'll want to continue reviewing the conversion to ensure your employees are paid accurately. Moreover, feel free to visit our website or blog to track your requests and recent developments.
For more information about generating scheduled or unscheduled paychecks, refer to this article: Create and run your payroll.
Furthermore, you can also pull up payroll reports to get a closer look at your employee's total wages, deductions, and tax information in a certain period. Scan this guide for the complete list: Run payroll reports.
I'm always here to listen if you have other concerns about managing paychecks. Just add a reply below so I can help you out again.
